Drugo najhladnejše mesto na svetu je prestolnica ruske republike Sakha, Yakutsk. Tam je sicer največje pristanišče reke Lene, mesto pa predstavlja tudi pomembnejšo prestolnico najdišč diamantov. Vseeno pa temperature, ki sežejo tudi do minus 41 stopinj Celzija, lokalnemu prebivalstvu ne prizanašajo. Po vodo morajo možje hoditi 70 kilometrov daleč do jezera, kjer prepeljejo velike kose ledu, ki za vse prebivalstvo predstavljajo edini vir pitne vode.
